Chickens at the back door?

In the neighborhood to the south of us, one of my patients tells me that two of the wild chickens that roam that neighborhood get testy if he doesn't come out to feed them early enough.

They have learned that if they will peck on his bedroom window, he will bring out the food and treats and so now they are like his alarm clock. They have no coop, they roost in the neighborhood trees and they avoid the numerous owls and chicken hawks that are also in great abundance in the said neighborhood.

My wife said she has noticed a number of owls sitting in the trees across the street from our house. I wonder if they have been keeping their eyes on our birds as I sometimes will let one or two of them out to free range but we just let Jerry Dee the savy roo go to a new home in Mesa.

My back porch is the first place my chickens run to when I let them out. Sometimes, I wonder if I kept them in the house too long...

My wild roo has got it figured out. He comes down to the house in the afternoon and gets up on the rail right next to the back door.

I hear a Cock-a-doddle-do and go feed him bread right out of my hand. He is really cool for a roo.

hi id like to know where you got that rug :) weve been looking everywhere!
