While free ranging my chickens found some of the gel crystals you add to the soil to reduce the frequency of watering. The crystal swell into a gel form when wet. They have not been eating well for some time now despite the cold and I was wondering if this could be the problem. The chemical description is Crosslinked Homopolymer of Acrylamide. Can anyone help or refer me to one of the chicken experts that may advise me please?

I would talk to a vet or call the emergency number that is usually on every container of chemical. Sounds like their crops are full of the stuff and they won't or can't eat. A vet can flush the crop for you.

Wish I could help more.
