Hello, I know it's normally the other way round but my chickens keep attacking my dog and she is too scared to go outside. I got them a few weeks ago (ex-battery rescues) and they are lovely. Apart from the dog attacking! They fluff themselves up and peck her. She's a small dog and leaves them alone apart from the odd sniff. The sniff seems to be the trigger for their attacking. Please help :-(

Easier to train a dog to keep its distance than to train a chicken to ignore its instinct to not get eaten.

It may take more time for the birds to learn the dog won't hurt them.
Are the birds free range?
Maybe they should be confined for a time, they may have to alternate ranging times with the dog.

Build a chicken-proof pen for your dog?
