Yesterday morning I heard my chickens scream while I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom. I went downstairs and let my dog out in the garden and he barked angrily and ran of. I went to take a look but I didn't see anything since it was still dark. When I got home that night I only found one chicken running around. I soon found the other two dead. Both of their heads were missing and there was a bite taken out of the side of one of them. They were called Ella and Carla.
I took the remaining one, Mina inside and now she's been in the basement for a night and a day.
My dad promised me to build a fox-proof cage for Mina (and the future chickens). Any tips to make sure nothing can get in the cage?
Oh and Mina is making the house smell really bad. She's in the basement in an old dog bench (I atached a big box to it so she also has a place with walls so feels safer. I also let my dog sleep in a basket beside her so she not alone and the two get along really well). I already cleaned out the bench but it still smells. Should I bath her?
