Hello! We are brand new to chickens! We just got our first flock on 4/10 - 4/11. We have 13 chicks right now that are 3 weeks old. So far we haven't lost any thank heavens! I think my heart would break if we did! We have two Easter Eggers (Mislabeled as Ameraucanas by IFA šŸ™), two Columbian Wyandottes, two Golden Comets, three Golden Sex Links, two Cream Legbars, a Speckled Sussex, and a Welsummer. So far it has been a blast watching the chicks grow up and learning all about them. I love seeing their colors coming in and guessing at what they'll look like when they're grown. My type A personality is majorly struggling with not being able to tell if a few of them are roos though... It makes me crazy not knowing for sure. We have two little dogs that are officially obsessed with the chicks. We haven't let them interact too much yet because we don't want any of our girls to become a snack. I am a travel agent so this season has been especially difficult for me. The chickens have been a wonderful addition that help give me something rewarding to focus on. I found BYC through google searches and have gotten a ton of great info from it. I finally decided to become a member after reading a ton of reviews and realizing how great it would be to have the community support on this adventure. So excited to be a part of this!
