Hi all. I am new to this group but could really do with some help please. I have five chickens that are all coming up to 4 years old. In the last few days Cadbury's comb has shrunk by nearly half and has gone from red to a pale pink and has flopped over. She isn't scratting around like normal and is sitting a lot. She keeps shaking her head and blinking really slowly. She is still interested in food and water but isn't as active as normal. The other four girls are fine and acting normally. Is there anything I can try? Our local vets have very limited chicken knowledge. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Is she still laying? If so, when was her last egg?
Have you checked her crop function; full at night, empty in the morning?
Have you checked between her legs for fluid build up or hardness?

No I don't think she is laying. We've had less eggs and I've noticed she hasn't been in the nest box for quite a few days now. Her crop feels quite squidgy at the moment. I can check it again in the morning. Between her legs feels normal. She is a bit lighter than normal
