Hello everyone,

I'd like to bring up something that would be of interest to the community.

Recently, I learned that in many developing countries around the world, a small gift of livestock could mean the difference in economic improvement in these communities, especially to women and girls. Surplus income from eggs or dairy means that girls can go to school, whereas only boys were deemed worthy of investment before.

I'm currently a student, but I just donated to this project for a sustainable chicken farm in Guatemala. On www.globalgiving.org there are other projects available, but I chose this one because I've already seen the difference that chickens have made in our family's happiness, especially for my mother. And I would love to spread the gift of chickens and make a difference in the lives of other women and girls.

To many people in our community, $18 would be a bag of chicken feed, but $18 could mean chickens that change a family in other parts of the world.

Let's make chicken math make a real difference in the world.
