Chickens didn’t seem to molt?

I’m curious. My flock didn’t seem to molt this year, no big feather loss or anything. They did stop laying on a frequent basis for awhile during late August and early September, but with the cold weather, they’ve actually been laying much more?? What could cause this behaviour, and can it be natural?

Varied ages. three 7-month olds, three 5 year olds, two 3 year olds and an 8 year old. The 3 and 5 year olds lay regularly, the 8 year old lays every so often, and I’m not 100% sure if the 7-month olds have but I have a feeling they do because I’ve been finding eggs in their favorite resting spots.

I have some that have a horrible molt and other hardly molt.
Maybe the older hens had a small molt this year.
