chickens dying for no reason, please help

Hello, Good mornig to everyone hope all is well in chiken land, Im Hoping someone can help me, it all started about 3 weeks ago, i went out to feed and found my buff roo and hen dead in the house, they had no spot on them no mark of any kind nothing, looked just like they were a sleep, then a few days later i found 3 japtail (white/ black tails) about 3 months old dead, one in house and the others in lot, no marks again nothing out of the ordinary, now yesterday I had 4 easter eggers dead, 3 in house and one in lot, at one time I had about 40 chickens now i'm down to 1 japtail hen and roo, 3 easter eggers and one polish pair, my heart is so broken, i havent switched food or anything, there in lots with tops and all, theres no way anything can get to them, Im so disgusted and hurt Im about to just give up, Any help is greatly appreciated,

I'd send a body from each age group in for necropsy. It sounds like you may have a disease.

so sorry this is happening, I have to agree with cvm sounds like a disease and needs to be addressed quickly. Don't beat yourself up, things happen that we don't have answers for but we don't give up or quit.

Where are you located? If you are in the states- you likely have a state lab or university poultry extension that can help you. A necropsy should give you the answers you need. In general sudden death (in multiples) is due to toxin, trauma, or some really unpleasant infectious disease. No changes in them prior? No respiratory problems, diarrhea ect? Look at the food and water supplies closely. Examine them closely- lots of lice? Any diarrhea? Go into the coop late night and check for coop mites- they can occur in huge numbers and cause anemia (and don't don't live on the bird). Do you have neighbors that could be putting something in the coop?

If you go to your local Wildlife Rescue, they might do a necropsy for a donation. Then you can write off the money on taxes.

It sounds to me like it is something that is spreading from one to the next also. Do the stools and everything look fine before they die?

I agree with the others, something is amiss. Unless maybe it's just been super-hot there? Sometimes the heat can cause them to just up and die. Chickens are far more succeptable to heat stokes than to cold temps.
