We have 26 6-8 weeks old cornish rocks we're raising for meat. In the last 2 weeks we have lost 4, but only lately have I noticed a red sac on their backside after death. Currently I only have 1 that has any swelling or cues that something is wrong. This is my first time raising chickens.
Does anyone have any ideas that could be causing their deaths? I also have 3 Rhode Island Reds and one Bantam that seems the most active and healthy. Could this be contagious?
