chickens eat all the grit.

hi everyone.
I have a bowl that i put grit in for the chickens but they wont stop eating the grit. is this a concern? and what should i do?

How old are they? What feed are you using? And how much grit is offered.

At first glance, I would say it is a concern. But the above questions would need to be answered to really say anything.

they are 17 weeks they are on layer feed purina. and they have a little mug of grit now they dont eat the whole thing because i will take it away when i see them eating it. maybe is it to small it is chick grit but the bag says it can be used on adult birds to.

Definitely get Adult size Poultry Grit.
I stop offering Chick Grit at 8 weeks.
I offer Poultry Grit from 7 weeks on. GC

Thanks for info They should know how much grit 9 they need, just like oyster shell once they're laying.
