Chickens Eating Paint

I noticed that my chickens were eating peeling paint off the side of our house. I'm not sure how long they had been at it, but their now confined to a run where they can't do that anymore.

Our house is from the 50's and who knows what horrible lead based paints my poor girls have ingested. They appear healthy and happy, but I wonder about the safety of the eggs they're laying. Any one have any information on this?

The fact that they're healthy, I think is a pretty good sign, for the chickens' health part. But I would probably wait a while before eating those eggs again.......
