My leghorn has been either laying from the pirch and once her egg hits the ground, her and a couple of her girls are eating it. This has been going on for three days any suggestions on how to handle this?

Are you seeing egg shells? Not really much you can do if they are laying eggs from the roost. Generally they lay every 24 hours. Usually, though roost eggs are from new layers. How old is she?

Meant say she's either dropping/laying them from the perch or taking them from the box...

It looks like it's dropping from the perch, egg cracked open on the ground. Not until today did I see three if them eating it. The have lots of oyster shells so not sure what's going on here....three days in a row of this though 🤔

Have you seen this? You know for sure she is laying? Again, how old?
I've had eggs crushed by my muscovy and then the hens eat it, but generally there is shell left over. Egg eaters will eat the whole egg due to nutritional deficiencies.

When I have had egg eaters, it was because they needed calcium. I put out oyster shells and that has resolved the problem. Feeding crushed eggshells can also help.

Some chickens, though, just have the bad habit of eating eggs.
They have lots of oyster shells out at all times so not sure why she's doing it. One of my girls hatched a roo so he's new to the program maybe they're disrupted I don't know...

They will definitely eat a broken egg. Its a delicious treat. But, laying from the roost is generally a young hen issue. It could be soft egg shell issue as well. I add crushed citracal to the oyster shell if I have egg laying issues. It contains vitamin d which helps the calcium to absorb.

Is she a new layer, and are the egg shells string and hard? How many nest boxes and hens do you have?
She's not a new layer and she's been pretty regular for the last year. I have 10 hens and 8 boxes and they usually lay in two of them. I do have a new roo though so I wonder if it's his presence causing the weirdness
