CHICKENS EATING THEIR EGGS

Recently I noticed my egg production went down and now i caught my chickens in the act of eating their eggs. So time to pick your brain about what to do to break the habit, any thought would be great Thanks!!

Not sure if you have seen it but there is also a nice article in the Learning Center on breaking egg eaters. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/six-tips-on-breaking-your-egg-eater I like a lot of fake eggs in the nests and collecting often, a lot of people like making the nest boxes dark using curtains . Also make sure there is plenty of soft nesting material in the nests so the eggs don't crack when the hens lay or step on them. If they are being really stubborn, pinless peepers and roll-away nests are other options if they continue to do it. Double check their diet also, that they are getting enough protein, and have oyster shell on the side in case the shells are getting thin.
