Chickens Escape

If you watch those little buggers dig, you will see that they can get out from under a fence. However, I have observed that it depends on the size of the bird. My Rhode Islands, for example, are big birds, and they dig long enough to get all the grass on the other side, and then give up. But, oh can they dig! And yes, they can "fly" (more like a high jump) over my head, which is 5-1/2 feet. Generously :) Personally, I don't want to clip their wings, and I do provide them a covered run for protection. We have lost many birds in our area to hawks.

Not me personally, but friends in the area, which is why I covered my run.

Ok, thanks. :)
This morning I came home to find that my easter egger was out, and the entrance was secure. Should I put a cover over the run right now, or should I watch my chickens some more to see if the Easter Egger got out another way?

Lol, thanks, I think I will. Other people have mentioned going under the fence, and after all, it is my smallest chicken...
