Chickens eye/lid swollen shut

Hi all! My husband noticed this morning one of our hens eyes is swollen. It looks pretty bad around the rim. We took in these hens this winter (they are around 6 years old) but we are still learning about them!

We have a total of 4 chickens and I'm curious if this is contagious and we should separate her as well.

Any advice/help would be appreciated!!

Could be an upper respiratory infection. Antibiotics are probably needed. Even if it is a virus, antibiotics are needed for secondary infections normally associated with URIs. As far as the type of antibiotic, I'm not very educated in that aspect with chickens.
 
This may be infectious coryza, or other respiratory infection.
Is vet care an option for you? Testing would be the best way to know for sure what you are dealing with, there are several different types of respiratory issues they can get. Because of the facial swelling, coryza comes to mind. Some of the respiratory infections are chronic, symptoms can be treated, but will recur during times of stress. More info here:
