Chickens float

If she has not started laying yet, and is not acting sick, she's almost certainly not eggbound. An eggbound hen will be a very sick hen, it can kill them. I lost a cockatiel to it years ago, we couldn't get the egg out and she was extremely miserable for two or three days then fell over dead.

sometimes she will go in the nesting boxes, and come back out and when I go check it is always empty. Some one said their little bum gets all poopied up, kinda like they got the squirts, and her bum is pretty messy. But she does not feel lumpy, like you would think and she eats fine and walks all over the yard with the other girls.

Kind of risky putting her into your hot tub, isn't it? You never know what might come out her back end that isn't even an egg.
