Chickens flying

Our Belgian d'Uccles can fly very well, it just depends on breed type. Large birds with comparatively smaller wings generally fly poorly, at least when they are adults.
Then there's motivation, which makes a difference too.

Just this morning my OEGB hen flew 3 continuous laps around her coop and run. She is a tiny little hen, even for OEGB's, but she can fly really well. She was in front of my shop one day and got spooked by something. She flew up and over my shop and way back into the woods. Took a while to find her. She is definitely my best flyer and my smallest bird. Most of my Bantams are able to fly. I have no idea how far though.
