I am as we speak going to organize a community outreach charity program to aid in financing her delicate plastic surgery and with the proper prostetic beak implant she will be a productive member of the flock for at least a few more day's. I have Oprah & Dr Phil on the phone and they have agreed to a one hour special about her, to raise awareness of how important it is socialy comfort these unfortunate chickens, so they need not be bullied when they return to the flock. Of course they only agreed to that after the whacko girls from the View had already booked them on their show, A gaggle of animal behaviorist have also stepped forward to offer their services in her emotional rehab. I feel so much better to been able touch the heart of just one more Foo-Foo bird and Foo-Foo birds all over the world in this trying time. Time magizines e-mail to me reads that they were so happy to name her Foo-Foo Chicken of the year, what an amazing honor.

And then Oprah will give a farm fresh egg to each member of the studio audience; So, you'd better quick get 200 more layers and cram them in your coop so you can produce the eggs she needs by the time she tapes the show next Thursday. Afterwards you can sell the Oprah endorsed eggs through your website for $12.98 each (plus S&H).

You know...I think this thread finally died. When we are down to talking about dog training and foo foo birds we have run out of useful topics to discuss.

Time to call it a night, huh?

What I'm saying is I do believe we've covered all the aspects of flock management about a thousand times and I think we've run out of things to address. I'm just shocked it took this long to come to the end of it all but I've noticed the thread has just about served it's purpose. We've had a nice, long run, haven't we? Kind of sad to turn it loose but there it is....I think we are done, aren't we?

nope do not shut down. i will stop all.

Heck, no, Brucey...it's not a thing to do with all the joking...I love that! But we haven't had a good problem to address or real advice to dish for some time. Just repeating the old things over and over. Unless someone can come up with something new to figure out or needs an answer to something we haven't already addressed a thousand times, it means we've finished the job.

That's a good thing!

Means we can go to bed now. Nothing more to jaw about except how to help with constipation and vericose veins like all the other old timers.

Trough style feeder.  You can make a simple, cheap trough from rain guttering and 2x4s for feet/legs.  To keep them from billing it out you can fit welded wire fencing over this trough and it's ideal.  I went to this style of feeder years ago and never looked back...you can feed wet or dry, a little or a lot and can instantly see how much was eaten out of any one meal.  Gives you an idea of what your flock is consuming each day.

How do you close the ends??

Well I think there are still many many things to consider, unfortunately they would not be things the newer type folks could even possibly begin to understand let alone digest before it turned into more mundane newby questions, which they have become so accustomed to recieving answers from. The OT population who would be available to visit and offer insight about newer topics on more unconventional topics is very slim indeed, and that would just be a few of us, the others would just have to read and scratch their heads. I think your right though Bee I seldom answer out of sheer bordem and repetion of the same old stuff that 40,000 other threads have already beat to death. The only difference with your thread is we don't say Iam sorry for your loss every other post, instead we say SOoo how did she taste, which alienates 99.9 % of BYCer's

So what's your next move here Bee, the ball is in your court dribble or shoot ??.

They sell the ends in the same place they sell the gutters...very cheap, all of it.

I just don't know, Al...any suggestions? I'm open to anything that isn't patently ridiculous, like how to make the diapers more form fitting and slimming.

How does one freshen up an old thread of old timers without just reflecting on old times and things?
