I told this guy one time that I grew chickens.......... he said how do you grow chickens.............. I said the key was to plant them in the ground head first.

If you all knew Al like I know Al you would know that if anyone could grow chickens by planting them head down Al could do it.
How's life been treating you? Been auctioneering lately?

Here in the hills we just plant the seeds(eggs)....only a city slicker would plant the whole dang bird! <insert hocking and spitting sounds here>

Al knows that, he were only funnin' with the city feller.

Yes. Because of their size and propensity to pas gas, the preferred method of raising Ostrich is still both feet with the head in the sand for extra support and so they don't die of the smell.
Ok, great. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

See, but you can't do that if you have hybrids or the seedless varieties. Those I was planning on pulling a feather and trying to reproduce by grafting. Maybe onto a duck, and aim for a water repellant variety in case it ever rains here again.

Look at you! Always sidin with that Al fella.

Planting the eggs is probably why you have scrub chickens (Hybrids).

Sidin with Al ain't a bad thing. He's a pretty good feller. Cooks some mean Itilian food. The only thing we differ on is I like my chickens "normal" and he likes his 1/2 a chicken tall and 2 chickens wide.

Hey there Gary............ long time no see........... how is Grace and the new place near Duncan, do tell............ PM a brother Gary. I have filled in at Blanchard auctioneering every now and then when the ugly red headed guy get's tired, Jim has gotten into a mess with the ASPCA so Blanchard auction may be a thing of the past. If he sells it I am thinking of buying it and taking it over and see if I can bring it back to it's former poultry glory LOL.
