On the hawks -
I understand that this time of year is bad for hawks because it's migration time and things should quiet down after the migration. Does anyone know when that intense period of time ends and they have finished migration?

There doesn't seem to be any little badges under peoples avatars anymore on my end.

The wife is doing well thank you folks for asking, the doc said it was good that I brought her back in that soon. No lasting damage from the dog incident. I have been concentrating on my business to keep my mind off the loss, I guess it will sink in one of these day's soon then I'll get mad LOL. Maybe after the storm settles if it's bad enough I may grab a few of my crews and head up north to see if we can help with any rebuilding, and make some of dat good Fema Gobment cash. I still have 4 of those Fema trailers from when I went down to do Katrina recovery, they let me have them after 18 mo of living in them near New Orleans LOL. Work is good for the soul.
Glad to hear the wife is doing well...

Thank you for protecting our freedoms.....

Good to "hear" your voice on here!!

I really don't know, just sayin' ....

WE HAVE TRIED TO SAVE SOME(not to that extreme). we have come to the conclusion, that we will do our part(feed them, water them and some vitamins/apple cider vinegar) if they make it great if they don't, I will miss them. NO MORE ANTIBIOTICS AND ETC.

It's pouring heavy, wet snow here...and my old flock are out in it regardless. Guess they don't like living cooped up and have decided to brave the elements.

So far, so good on power here but if the wind picks up later it will all go. Pretty first snow....I always love the first snow of the year!

I hatch out what I need to meet my financial needs, and my consumption needs. I hatch out one batch of Orps in the Spring for the 4H group and it is a guessing game if I will have the correct birds for show. (My flock group usually hatch out there own clutches.I have three hen that set a nest and they are set controlled by me) I keep them for a few weeks to see if there is some show promise. The kids sometimes want a baby chick or two to raise for 4H. I am waiting for the perfect chick. I have sold a few eggs for hatch out projects for schools and to a few friends, when I have eggs available.. when I know I do not have the time I need to invest in them. Show prospects take copious amounts of time. You have to handle them so much.
