We purchased 12 chickens strictly to control fleas. To my amazement, it has worked like a charm. I would much rather spend the money on feed for my little fluffy butts than spend it on poison to treat my yard, my dog, my cats, and my home. Am I crazy?

I live in Alabama and the fleas are terrible. Especially in the spring and summer. I got my chickens in March. By April they were outside. Haven't spent a dime on flea meds or chemicals yet this year. And I haven't gotten bit at all. Haven't seen a single flea. I'm assuming it's the chickens eating them. The tick issue has also lessened. Only see 2 or 3 a week. Used to see 20 or so a day.

Nice! I live on Bama too and can confirm that statement! We moved from UK and my poor British pups got fleas and ticks! So I got to medicate them and hire an exterminator! I'm hoping to hatch some chickens, so will see if that works for me too!
