My name is Stacy Bornbach and I recently got my granddaughter who is 9 into 4-H and would like ro get her learning how to raise chickens to show at the fair. I am new to all of this so could use some advice if anyone is able to provide some!!

Hello, Stacy, and welcome to BYC. Does your local 4 H have a poultry club? If so the leader can help you decide whether to start with meat birds or egg laying or strictly show birds. If show birds, go to a local show and obtain stock from someone there. It costs no more to feed quality birds than to feed hatchery quality birds.
