Chickens for my wife

:welcome

Hello, under the Articles tab you will find member-written documentation of coops they have built...take a good look through them for ideas on what may work for you: chicken-coops.12

And if you have questions about particulars, you can ask in this forum: Coop & Run - Design, Construction, & Maintenance

Best wishes!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
I have already started lookin at all the coop builds here only three pages in and already a lot of info and ideas, I am in north west Georgia and have a little over 5 open acres.
I guess I will keep my wife as nobody seemed to want to trade any of their chickens for her( I probably couldn’t find anyone else that would put up with me anyway). I / we will just have to decide how big and of course the layout then the location, pretty sure I will build an enclosed run with varmint countermeasures as we have grey fox and plenty of hawks as well as coyote.

Hello all
just joined , gonna be doing a lot of reading so I can best decide on what kind of coop and how big I will need to make it. My wife has been wanting chickens for quite some time now and since our new neighbors have already gotten them a coop set up with chickens she is really keyed up for me to make it happen.
wish me luck !
Welcome! I did the same with looking. I never saw anything online that would work for our small backyard, hot and dry climate, 65 mph winds and needs until we went to a farm show and there it was! We are in Zone 9 and we chose an open coop design due to the extreme hot temps here in the summer. Have fun with the design! Please share it with everyone.
