I am new here and have learned so much! Thank you to all who post valuable information. We have 2 laying hens, and six 14-week-old hens. We live in town with a fenced in yard. There are a couple escape routes that we secured. This could get interesting! Lol! Is there anything I should know or be aware of? Will the younger birds go back tonight or will we have to round them up?:)

Thank you! I'm nervous letting the girls out for the first time:))

If they have been in the coop for a few days they should go back. Most of the time I start leaving them out close to sun set for the first few times so they can't wander to far and get lost and are not out so long s to get too comfortable outside.

Ours expect to go out now haha, they're 13-14 weeks old. Mine go in at around 8 pm!

They've done great! My son went out to shut the coop, and announced they were all sleeping on the perches. They had fun, and I'm sure found all kinds of yummies in the yard!
