Yes he is.
Just last week he started doing the mating dance, mostly with me!
And yesterday he figured out how to mount ... the chickens.
I am so proud!

No green potatoes
No avacados
No excess citrus or sugar.

My freezer defrosted Monday night. Tuesday morning the chooks got 3 big tamale pots full of defrosted goodies. At least it wasnt a complete waste!

Chickens are prone to illness from spoiled food just as we are. They don't mind freezer burn, though, and love it when I defrost the freezer. As for scraps -- mine don't really want the red part of the watermelon, they want the pink and whitish stuff nearer the rind, and they love the seeds. Same is true for many food scraps. But if it is moldy or smells funny, it doesn't go to my chickens.

That's wierd.. mine love the flesh of the watermelon.. we often cut them a whole disk and let them have it, seeds, flesh and all.. only the thin skin of the rind is left when they're done. ((they'll even drink the juice off the plate))
