Hi- I currently live in the NW but will likely be relocating to the Denver area soon. I have some showgirl hens I'd want to take with me, but is it too cold there for them? Also, what kind of things does a chicken coop there need? Insulation? How would seramas do? Thanks so much for the advice

I keep five girls in a small, unheated, uninsulated (although I would insulate if there was room) coop in Northern Utah and they are doing beautifully.

You may want to ask in the "where am I, where are you" thread.

Hi, I live about 45 miles east of Colorado Springs on the high prairie and my chickens do fine in an uninsulated house. I do have a light that comes on 13 hrs a day and close the door on stormy days. I feed them some cracked corn at night to generate some more heat in their tummies at night and they do fine.
