Welcome to BYC!!(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I've had chickens since late 2019, but did not have any experience with them before then!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I currently have 13 laying hens.
(3) What breeds do you have? I have two jersey giants, two buff orpingtons, two easter eggers, two cream legbars, three wyandottes, one barred rock, and one french wheaten maran.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? They're just really fun to watch peck and scratch around, the eggs are great, and I enjoy having them around. I learn so much from working to take care of them, and watching them is just really relaxing. I like taking care of them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I really enjoy sewing and baking. I also like hiking with my basset hound.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I've worked in coffee for a few years and am finishing up my master's degree in professional counseling!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I've been a long time reader, but first time poster today! I primarily joined for some help with a chicken health issue I'm currently troubleshooting, but am looking forward to participating in other ways now as well!
