Chickens in new run.... Ideas for toys and things to do

Hi, Here is our Chicken Jungle Jim. Will be adding a few other hanging items that do not take up floor area. This is in our 20' x 24' chain link run area. They climb, jump, fly up to everything including the swing. And they love the bird bath. Hope this helps, Erik

Give them 22ft and they still want more!!!

Had to remove the speckled hen from the tree last night, so have moved the house and cut tree back more, see if that works!

I buy bales of straw for $5.00 a bale. Our chickens love to explore the bale once we cut off the binding ropes. They will spend most of an afternoon climbing all over that atraw, pecking and scratching excitedly. It's cheap entertainment.

I have several branches/logs at different levels for my girls to play on. A nice fat stump is a lot of fun too. Other than that, I'm in same boat -- wanting more fun for them.

One comment on your run; mine is the same way with curved corners on the fence panels. I piled up large rocks on the outside as a small(ish) possum can get into the run.

I have a chain link coop for our 5 grown chickens. I was planning to put hardware cloth on the bottom so baby chicks couldn't get out. I came home one day to see our mini doxie with her snout through the chain link ripping apart Granny(our crippled NN). It was horrific and I had to euthanize her. We put on the hardware cloth, but I will always wish we had done it sooner to protect our chickens.

Had a change around as my new house came so my girls/boys are in their new house tonight
