So with my baby chicks , I was like awwww this is so cute, I could sit with them on my lap and let them chase me back and forth on my concrete stained floors. Yesterday I got two one year old production reds, hens, and still trying to make everything perfect outside, with their coop. Clipped their wings last night as well and well I just didn't want to have them stuffed into the dog kennel anymore. OMG, thank god for stained concrete floors! This is a mess and I just cannot wait for them to get outside, lol. Hurry coop!

Sometimes, putting the 'cart before the horse' is not a good idea.

Bet that coop gets finished in a hurry.

I sympathize...but at least you have a concrete floor! We have a basement that's too cold for our chickens (sometimes it's colder than outside!), and no garage. And our coop plans got hung up by zoning laws. So now we're going through an appeals process. And we have our chicks in a dog crate in a room that has a carpet! Between the door being shut in there all the time, plus the heat lamps, plus the ducks that keep getting the pine bedding wet...YUCK!

Awww, I am sorry sweetest. I am about to stuff the girls back in the crate, lol. I cannot take it to much longer. Wish some one would of finished the coop yesterday like they were supposed to. Yep and I was told it was my job to clean up the mess, omg Yay me. Can't wait for the eggs! Had my first one yesterday but didn't get to it in time before it was broke.

My coop is all done but the 5 week olds follow me into the house. Kind of annoying yet kind of cool at the same time.

Oh yes, hehe I love my baby chicks! They are the sweetest and most lovable little things. The hens on the other hand, Lavern and Shirley, have a lot to get used to. The reality of chickens has really set in, but I still love them! Yesterday when I got them, one flew away out of the yard and I had to go chase her down like the movie scene in Gone With The Wind, where the poor old man is chasing the last chicken! It would of been a great AFV clip!

Now I can't get them out of my house! Lol they keep coming back in, left the back door open trying to coax them out , they went out for a few and came tight back in. Omg
