So we have 7 chickens (2 Rhode Island Red, 2 Barred Plymouth Rock, 1 Buff Orpington and 2 (5 mo old) Sumatra mixes) we usually get 5 eggs a day and for the last 2 days we had only been getting 2 a day. My husband went out this morning and found a new nest this morning with 4 eggs in it (yay!)
But they are a different color than the norm. We usually get brown eggs but the ones in the nest are almost VERY pale tan with a little tinge of green? (the 4 in the middle) We know that these are not from the Rhode Islands because they laid this morning while we were out and their eggs were dark brown.
what would make them find a new place to lay? (they have 6 boxes to lay in) And what would make the eggs be a different color?
