Wow - I have learned a lot from all of you! Thank you so much. I will increase their protein immediately!!! Poor chickens....
Just to clarify, we only give them mealworms once a week, definitely not daily as my post seems to say (who could afford that?!) but they are definitely getting too much treats. Starting tomorrow - NO more scratch, unless there's a blizzard. And they'll get just a tiny bit of oats. And 18% layer feed. If I mix it with water, they'll eat it a little better.
