chickens loosing their feathers!

i have 8 hens and have noticed they all have feather loss at the base of their tails. some even have no feathers there. i live near pittsburgh and weve had our first snowfall, so i'm afraid they could get frost bitten. first off does anyone know what's causing this on all 8 birds and secondly how can i treat it. thank you!

Hi there.
Did you check your hens for lice/Mites?
Or even de lice them?
It is recommended you do it every year.
They might also be moulting but I think it is
