My 3 year old chickens are losing “new” small feathers that are all over the coop. They have stopped laying. This had gone on too long to be a normal molt and they are not losing feathers like a normal molt. They are otherwise healthy. I dont see any mites but am really not sure. How would I identify the problem? Could it be something else? Treatment?

Being 3 years old, they wouldn't be laying eggs.
Why do you think it's been too long? Sometimes it takes them months to fully molt.
If they are otherwise fine and external parasite free, I would say it is indeed their "normal" molt.
Do you offer extra meat protein during the molt? That helps with quality feather formation.

Thank you! What extra protein would you suggest that I feed to them?
