Chickens love eating zucchini

I have given mine raw carrots before so I imagine zucchini would be okay. I have never frozen any of the fruit but I have given them ice cold watermelon and grapes. They loved it.

Old thread - oh well. I grated some fresh raw zucchini and put it out for my birds, and they are eating it up like crazy. I can hear them chanting my name in appreciation from the garage. Or maybe they are just appreciating the fresh veggies. Either way, makes me smile!

Mine are eating the leaves of the plant too. Is this safe?

Aaah, its been a busy season......its good to be "in the backyard with our chicken friends" I have learned so much over the last few months............my chickens are doing great after one year of being a newbie chicken-er! I feed my girls lots of different stuff because I am able to and they love raw zuccinni! They pick at it hanging from a "string" like they do corn cobs, bunches of god weeds and allowable plants from my garden. It makes them "share" and we are now into the yogurt & protein season as they are molting. New for me too but they are doing well. Although I lost one a couple weeks ago when we were away and I don't know why they are doing well.
Since we live next to a mink ranch we do have a good run but of course they have cleaned everything up! Except for good dusting spots! So I have given them the debut of being able to run free for about an hour before it gets dark. Perfect except of course they want to run farther each time. Corn niblets is a prime attracter for bringing them back.
Thanks to all you out there who have been encouraging after my brain injuries and subsequent newbie mistakes in caring for the 12 err, 11 Chicks! My customers are always happy with th
