Chickens mating yesterday, when will her eggs be fertilized?

Yesterday and today I saw my BR Rooster and my RIR Hen mating a few different times. My Roo is only about 4 1/2 months old, and the hen is about a 1 1/2 years old. The hen is a very good layer, and I want to let her hatch eggs but I'm wondering if my Roo is old enough to actually fertilize eggs?

It is possible he is but time will tell. She has to have about 3-6 egg's before you see any fertile eggs. crack open the new egg's until the bullseye appears then you will know.

Okay thanks! I checked her eggs from yesterday and there was no, hopefully she'll lay today too so I can check that one.
