Never in a million years did I think I would be joining a forum about chickens! I had no idea just how addictive they could become. I live in Greenville, SC and actually am not the owner of any chickens (yet) but my neighbor has them. My co-worker has plans to get chicks soon and she lives one street over from me. I was looking up a breed a few days ago and found this forum and I'm hooked on it. I've got my neighbor and my co-worker reading it too, now. However, they have both told me that I am the researcher so they come up with the questions and I find the answers. I do plan to get a couple of EEs of my own to keep with my neighbor's flock. I will post pictures on here soon of her Black Star hen and her 14 chicks. They are just adorable. She has two hens setting right now and they should be hatching out in the next two days. We are just hoping the heat hasn't caused a problem with the eggs. It's amazing what one will do to keep chickens cool! I can't wait to learn more about these wonderful creatures.
