Might be an odd question, but will higher elevations affect any breeds? I assume no, but... Reason I ask is that I will be moving to property at 5600' this Spring, and was curious. Thanks in advance, Don

I live at 7500' and my flock is thriving. The only consideration in breeds would be their cold adaptation, freezing weather being a feature of high altitude.

Large combs and long wattles could prove prone to frost bite. My Wyandottes have short combs, but long wattles. So far, though, no problems. My Brahmas come with built in feathered slippers, and I'd bet that has to help with the cold some!
