We have 13 week olds, in our garage (don't ask, coop not finished yet), and the last three days their appetite has dropped alot.
We use blue seal Grower Cal. We started a new bag last wkend.
Here's the weird part.
My father (who lives near by) has chickens from the same batch/shipment, complained that his chickens weren't eating their feed either!
He keeps them in a shed, and they are allowed to roam the property all day.
He just got a new bag of the same feed from different feed store.
We smelled and looked closely at the feed but can't see anything wrong with it.

Could there be a recall on that batch of feed?
Should I switch from the grower?
Is it the chickens?
Any ideas...would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I googled for information on a recall, but only came up with earlier recalls, nothing current.

It's certainly possible that this is a bad batch of feed, especially since your father has noticed a similar problem with his chickens. If it was me, I'd take the bag back to the feed store or wherever you bought it and switch to a different brand.

Are you feeding them anything like treats? If so how much are you giving a day? Are you giving a scratch if so how much?

Chris
