Chickens not eating the new Purina Layena pellets

Mine refuse the pellets too. I caved in and they get crumbles.

I questioned the "pink bag" when I went around to pick it up and was told the bag was pink because of breast cancer awarness...that is was exactly the same as the blue bag. Mine are eating it the same as the blue bag

They are eating it now. I realized after I posted this that the bag prior was actually DuMor (sp?) brand. There are some differences in ingredients, don't know what it is that the birds think is better. They have stopped laying the last 2 weeks or so...but I reckon it's more due to lack of light this time of year than the food.

OK I have two feeders located in different rooms and the bird move between the two. Both have Layena pellets from the same bag. They empty the feeder in one room and hardly touch the feed in the other. So I'd guess it isn't the feed or the consistency/form, it is just the jugheaded birds. BTW, when I was feeding flock raiser they emptied both feeders at about the same rate.

I have buff orpingtons, australorps and plymouth Rocks and they all eat the pink bag of purina with no issues.

i just switched my birds over to pellets from mash (too much waste) using layena and they do fine , as long as i dont give them too much corn , they would rather eat corn all day , but it aint happening !!!!
