Hi, we have three backyard chickens almost three years old each. They have been good eaters up until a couple weeks ago. Now they are picky and hardly eat anything. Any advice greatly appreciated.

What has changed in the routine or feed?
What are you feeding? What is the manufacture date on the feed bag?

! Great to have you aboard! When you say picky - have you been giving them something else in addition to their usual feed?

I am glad you joined us! I guess I could just ask the same question ChickenCanoe and redsoxs asked, has their feeding routine been changed? New feed? More treats than usual?

Welcome!

Besides the already asked questions about feed etc, I just wanted to add that I have noticed changes in my gals eating habits depending on the weather and their activity levels etc.

I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

could they be getting food from other sources, free ranging, too many treats, neighbors feeding them? Do they drink and poo and interact with each other normally? Or do they look unwell and keep to themselves.

You may want to post at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread

If you could provide answers to some of the questions asked, we may be able to help you figure out what's happening.

Perhaps they're eating - or?
