Hi,
My chickens are about 6months old. They had been going into the coop every night to sleep but the last 2 nights i have found them huddled together in the corner of the run .. literally piled on top of each other. I have tried moving them but they are really stubborn.. the only thing that gets them to move is to sprinkle water into the run until they all go in coop. Does anyone know why they are doing this and what to do to rectify it?

There may be something in the coop that is bothering them, like red mites that hides in cracks and crevices during the day and comes out to feed on the birds at night. Treat the coop for mites and see if it helps.

HI,
Thanks for your replies.. it seems like it was mites... we cleaned out the whole coop, put down mite powder and they have all gone in off their own accord tonight.
Thanks again.
