Chickens not laying

my 2 ex bats (about 2 yrs old) have both stopped laying for about 5 days now, one passed a lumpy egg that had about 4 shells round it but still no sign from the other. I cant feel any eggs that might be stuck, they are eating and drinking normally, bright as buttons running round the garden, dont seem ill at all, I was getting 1 egg a day off each of them, any suggestions...?

You do realize that battery hens were "rode hard and put away wet" as they say. Taking in hens that were used in this fashion often means that any future egg production is more a gift than a given. All you can do is feed them well and hope for the best. If it is true that a hen is born with X number of potential eggs, those girls have likely pushed out a fair number of their quota in a big hurry early in life.
