I'm new to this forum and a new chicken owner. I have 4 urban chicks (4 different breeds) that are about 3mts old. They live in a wooden tractor coop that I bought off Craig's list. It's an A-frame/ark type co-op. I'm concerned because they are not perching. They perched when they were inside (living in a dog crate perched on a stick) and I do see a bit of poop on/near the perch, but generally they sleep on the side in one of the egg boxes. Soooo, should I be concerned, can I get them to perch?
thanks for any advice

I think they sleep where their comfy. My 3 gals wont sleep on their roost either. They all try to fit on a 4x4 cement block. Pretty amusing watching them battle over the best spot. They're fine.

Mine perch but sometimes just get in a nestbox and sleep there. I don't think it matters, just keep their floor reatively clean if they do deside to sleep in their bedding.
