So, this week we stopped letting our chickens out of the run first thing to free range. And I keep them there til about 3, bc they are getting close to laying. And I want them laying in the coop, not the brush! Lol!
So, they seem to spend all their free range time on or by the back porch railing where they roost. So tonight we went to close the coop up and only 3 birds were there instead of the 7 we have. The other 4? Back porch. We carried them to the coop. I also have taken to putting the hens IN their nest boxes bc otherwise they just stay on the floor and never get in the boxes. How will they know where to lay their eggs?? Anyway - WHY didnt the other 4 birds go back to the coop?
