I was wondering why asked about mites? My chickens have been doing the same thing

Make sure there is enough ventilation in the coop too.

Tha k you. I believe our coop is about 8 square feet right now. So we will be extending it to about 16 square feet and see if this helps. I appreciate your help.

Sounds like a good plan but you may want to make it even bigger then 16 sq ft.

Sorry, jumping on the their makeshift home roof (they grew out of and mostly go in the for shade and dusting) and the duck pen roof, Mostly just the bannie roosters(spelling?)

I used to have bantams that did that, they preferred the trees or roof to the coop for some reason...Never had the problem with my bigger layer breeds. My bantams seem to stray farther from the coop too...no longer have any due to attrition and most likely predators

Thanks! There just happens to be a tree right over both pens, so I guess that would explain it!

I'm no expert on Bantams....just my experience with them. Cool little guys but mine just seem to roam more then the larger breeds
