We had three 4 week old Welsimmer chickens get in with the bigger 6-7 weeks old chickens. They were cornered and pecked. Now they all have bloody sores on their bottoms. Has anyone else have these issues. Will they live? They seem pretty lethargic now.

We had the same problem when we tried to put younger chicks in with a little bit older chicks and the older ones actually killed one of the younger ones. Another of the younger ones was pecked up pretty badly but survived. Yours probably will after a little recovery time. Guess can't bring them together until much older and all the same size:(

chickens just do that. keep the younger chicks away fro the others until they are bigger and can run or defend themselves. I would guess at least 18 weeks, but not sure. keep the wounds clean, rinse with water, salt and water or peroxide and water mixture. apply antibiotic crean and keep them safe and they should be fine, keep an eye out for infection.
