Chickens pooping in nests!

I see your problem: Roosts are too low. And top roost, which is the only one they would use b/c of bird preference is too close to back wall. (mine are 15" from back wall, which IMO is still a bit tight.) You could move nest boxes down to floor level. If you keep them where they are, you might want to put more of a perch in front of them to give them a better landing strip before entering nest boxes. Not necessary, but that's my preference. It makes it easier for birds to enter nests without risk to eggs already in nest. Can you put perches on your "tall wall" so they can be higher?

Hello.....That is my set up not the OPs.....Actually not one issue here for my Birds...Huge Brahma, Orpingtons and Brahma/Orpingtons....They fit perfectly and all face inwards....My nests are also easy....

Funny all these pics and advice and OP has not posted a pic yet.

Ok, there are 2 posting....OP = VickiesChickens & no pics Then there's chickens really the 2nd with pics that has bantams & LF.

Same answer, the roost should be higher than the nest box. I've got BOs & my set up/picture is the green painted setup. Doing DLM, I haven't had leg/feet nor nest box issues.

My bad, I also didn't realize that!

Hey, don't feel bad cause I've done that too...
There's a few postings going on that others have joined in with similar problems/questions that's made it very confusing, ha ha Having to go backwards to trace the User Icon/ID.

Think maybe when others "hijack" with their similar issues we/they need to clarify they are joining/hijacking to the OP post?
