Chickens pooping in water bowl

Let us know, with pics :D
You sure don't want them standing in the water...frostbit feet are no joke.
Alright, here’s my finished product. I only had 1x1 mesh, so I cut some of the holes to the right size. Unfortunately right as I finished everyone went on the roost so I’ll have to wait until tomorrow for results. Potential problem with the one I just made is that it may be too short, but hopefully the little spikes on the top will discourage any jumping

Well, that was fast!
Maybe put another piece of wire on top, bent to make a sharp peaked 'roof'.
File down those sharpies sticking out around the openings.

What is the red light in the water?

Oh right, forgot to file down the little spikes! The red light is just the button on the water bowl signifying that it is heating to prevent ice buildup

Well I made a new cover for the water, and after a week it has worked great! It’s about 3x higher than the old design, and has 3 holes for the birds to stick their heads in to drink (each hole is about 7x5 in, plenty of space to drink from. Has worked great, only found knocked over once. The previous offending bird happened to lay an egg right as she was drinking through one of the windows too!
