chicken's pushing out fake eggs

Our New Hampshire Reds have just started laying the past few weeks. We have four hens and two nesting boxes. We put fake eggs in the nesting boxes, and the chickens are pushing these out of the boxes and onto the ground outside the coop. We continue to find eggs where they sleep and not in the nesting boxes.

How do we get them to lay in their nesting boxes, and why do they push out the fake eggs?

they will do this, try putting a board up on the bottom front of the nest box to help hold the eggs in. chances are they will do this with real eggs too.
